Movirtu provides users with a phone number that they can access from any mobile phone. They don’t need their own SIM card or even their own handset – they can borrow a friend or familly members.
In African communities where handsets are often shared between family members or neighbours, the cloud based phone allows people to send and receive mobile money and information services as well as make and receive calls and texts on any phone as if it were their own. This allows people to be more economically active and independent.
